THE FACTS:
This is a Arabian Bay Mare named Angel.
She must be in her late twenties or thirties by now.
She used to belong to my sister Sally.
She had a foal (a black colt) born on leap day many years ago who was named Raven’s Leap.
I leased this horse for a year or two over twenty years ago while I lived near the sea.
While I was grooming her a young girl screamed behind us. Angel startled and accidentally kicked me in the thigh. She did not mean to do it. That was my first horse kick.
She carried young children on her back for “pony rides” and enjoyed it.
I did a photo shoot of Angel and her son Raven in Bidwell Park near where I live now when they did not belong to my sister Sally.
Angel and her son Raven were purchased from my sister Sally as a package deal to a lovely lady and friend named Sophia.
Sophia rides Angel and Raven with no need for a saddle.
They ride like the wind….effortlessly.

I particularly love Raven Roll and Angel Arching 🙂 How long do horses live?

Thanks:) Horses can live to 30 and over and if healthy and well cared for. I have heard some horses living into their forties but that is rare. I think the average horse age is about 28.

Hi Y’all!
My Humans grew up with horses and spent their lives with them…and us dogs too…so when they grew up, met, fell in love and married performance horses and retrievers became their life.
We stumbled across your blog and love, love the photos of Raven and Angel!
Y’all come by now,
